Just like its name says, the tool works by using two pieces, one inner piece that removes the fork cap, and one inner piece that removes the cartridge. Both pieces are machined from billet aluminum alloy, work with a ½ driver/ratchet, and fit inside of each other so the outer ring can be clamped in a vice for an exceptionally positive grip as you remove the cartridge.
