Brand History – People behind the Immense Success

Established in 1895 by the late Philip John Harrah, the Bloomfield Manufacturing Company stands out as one of Indiana's oldest standing companies. It is the parent company of the Hi-Lift Jack Company and the Kant-Slam Company. The parent company is still owned and operated under the leadership of the fifth generation of the Harrah family.

Initial Inventions – Roadmap to Modern Gen Products

They started their journey by manufacturing the globally trusted Anvil-Vise-Drill tool, invented by their founder. Another one of their infamous early inventions was named as the Kalamity Kar Kit, which included all the necessary supplies for a car owner of the time. Featuring a pail to hold gasoline, a siphon to transfer gasoline, a steel tow strap, and a waterproof sheet, this kit came in handy during a motoring trip to keep the driver clean while working under his car.

Philip John Harrah also invented a variety of other gear and accessories to meet everyone's needs, including the casket display cart, the folding tea wagon, and the seven-use hammer-hatchet-wirecutter-pliers tool.

The brand – Hi-Lift was initially invented in 1905 and sold to the new owner as the Automatic Combination Tool. The original name was commonly known as the Handyman or Sheepherder's Jack. Later, it was renamed as Hi-Lift Jack. The brand's current product line features a variety of highly-functional tools that will help you resolve variant tasks at hand.
